I'll Remember You: Tribute to Elvis Presley 47 Years After His Passing

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." - Khalil Gibran, author of The Prophet

It's hard to imagine that Elvis Presley departed from this world 47 years ago. It amazes me that a man who lived a long time before I was born has been gone for more than four decades. I've been an Elvis fan for almost four years, which is something that I'm grateful for. I think it's crazy how discovering his music one day on a dreary, cold December afternoon has changed the course of my life in many ways. Not only have I learned the complex yet beautiful history of Elvis, but listening to his music has opened the door for my appreciation of older music and film history, which I am now a fan of. August 16th will always be a sad day for fans, but we should continue to remember Elvis by playing his music, watching his films, and celebrating his everlasting legacy. That's what I'll be doing today. He deserves it. We miss you, Elvis.
